My son and I decided to try big chew chew after pasting this place daily and we were surprised how good the food is however the price was high for certain food such as jalapeño poppers, it was like 6 bucks for only 3 poppers when I have seen cheaper price at other places for more portion It's good experience but not a place we will go often
Large building with cool painting on the outside! The inside is closed and you order at a drive up window. The staff was friendly and took our order when we drove up. We ordered: Chili Cheese Fries! Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries! Double Cheeseburger with Fries! Mushroom Swiss Cheeseburger with Fries! We drove around to the other side to pick up our order. It took a little while but I think it's because they make it to order which is good. Fresh and hot! All burgers were made the way we ordered them. Good hamburger patties. The chili cheese fries were OK but nothing special. Tasted like canned chili and canned cheese! Will be back. Need to try their deserts!
Food is great! Definitely a nostalgic spot for my husband growing up in the Belton/Temple area. Pricing is average for what they serve. Definitely appreciate the drive thru being quick, unless the kids working inside hold longer conversations with their friends while they are picking up their order. (We saw ice get throw into the vehicle in-front of us from the window of the establishment, so we assume they were friends). The painting on the side of the building is fun and definitely helps you notice that the building is even there when you're driving on such a busy road.
Came here tonight with my family. Went through the drive thru it was my first time here since I'm new to Temple. Anyways our burgers we're so delicious! The drinks we're great. My sweet tea and my son's had just the right amount of sweetness. Staff was friendly and fast. Our milkshake was good too! Loved the season fries and okra. I will definitely be back!
Big Chew Chews is one of the most underrated burger joints in Central Texas. If you are within 2.5 hours of Temple, TX, do yourself a favor and go grab a double with bacon and order of onion rings. Then come back and thank me. Lol Seriously, this is the best burger I've had in 20+ years.
